FRONT YARD DESIGN

The hello/goodbye garden

The front yard is the first impression someone has of your home. It’s an opportunity to express your personal style, enhance curb appeal, plus serves as a welcome mat to the inside of your house. A well-designed front yard can significantly increase the aesthetic value of a property, contribute to the overall ambiance and ecology of a neighborhood, and even impact the value of a home.

.....

The front yard is all about making a transition from the outside world to your personal space a little smoother and a lot more stylish. Plus, it can make your neighborhood look more inviting and friendly. Scott Schrader in the book, Garden Design Masterclass, often thinks of the front garden as a hello/goodbye garden because it's the first place to greet guests and the last time to say goodbye.

.....

Let's jump in to this amazing topic!

DESIGNING IN ELEVATION

When you view your design in elevation (as if you’re standing in front of it) it’s easier to understand the space and be able to visualize yourself in it. This is a great tool when choosing plants for the front yard.
