Posts
The posts are placed in the ground to structurally support your fence. Posts can be finalized with decorative caps to stylize your fence. This can be anything from a dome, a simple flat surface or even an ornamental flourish.
⚘
Rails
Rails, sometimes referred to as stringers or backers, are the horizontal connections between the posts. Depending on your style of fence, there are usually two or three rails that allow for attachment of the pickets.
⚘
Pickets
The pickets of a fence are the (typically) vertical components that connect to the rails. Depending on your style of fence, the pickets can vary in height, width and even direction. |
