Draw Your Plants Video: Cotoneaster

In my last post I discussed how drawing your plants are a great way to learn them. It's easy for me to encourage you to try it, but I wanted to take the next step and show how I actually draw plants.

I attempt to simplify the parts into their most basic forms in order to recreate them. Below is a short video showing how I drew a branch of peking cotoneaster (Cotoneaster acutifolius) using this simplified method. I definitely feel a special connection with this shrub each time I walk past it in my garden now.
